2023 Virtual Pennsylvania FGDM Conference:
Partnering with Families for Success

Good Afternoon Child Welfare Professionals!

The PA Statewide FGDM Leadership Team is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2023 Virtual Pennsylvania FGDM Conference, which is being held on April 25 and 26, 2023, from 9:00AM – 12:00PM. Please register by accessing the link in the brochure below. We invite you to join us and share this email with anyone in your county you deem appropriate.

There will be no registration fee for this virtual conference. Registration deadline is April 17, 2023.

This year’s theme, “Partnering with Families for Success,” will focus on the importance of engaging family and kin to improve outcomes for children.

We are excited to bring you two fantastic keynote speakers:

April 25th: Adrian McLemore, “Growin’ Up: How My Foster Care Experience Shaped My Kinship Care Philosophy.” Adrian’s own experience in the foster care system at a young age, along with his experience as a Kinship Caregiver for his niece and nephew, led him to champion young people being part of the child welfare placement conversation.
April 26th: Paul Nixon, “If You Want to Change Outcomes for Children, Change the Way Decisions are Being Made.” Paul has worked for over 30 years serving children and families. He has been an international leader of Family Group Decision Making. Paul has led child protection practices in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Paul currently works with government, community, and universities worldwide.

In addition to our keynote speakers, participants can choose one workshop session each day.
